On The Move

I am off to a local homeschool conference for the next three days. I am looking forward to the change of pace and chance to gaze at books uninterrupted :o) My family is off to grandma's for the weekend. I look forward to a fun weekend with good friends...the car ride alone will be fun! After my return there is one week before we move. I can't imagine I will be around much until we are in the new house and some what settled. Have a blessed week.
Here's a little peek at the new place.

All Is Well!

We had our 12 week ultrasound yesterday. Each life is such a miracle....the ones that stay here on earth and those that don't. We don't deserve to parent another little person but it looks like we are going to get that privilege. I couldn't be more grateful.
It was truly amazing. This little baby was so active and ALIVE! The arms and legs were moving constantly...twisting and turning. At 12 weeks this baby was running a marathon yet I couldn't feel a thing. I only knew because my eyes told me so, by staring at the screen. We bought a little sleeper after the appointment to celebrate and begin the preparation for babies arrival. I plan to enjoy everyday with this baby knowing there is no guarantee for tomorrow, yet hoping and longing to see it's little face in 6 months.

They also could no longer find the source of the has all healed. Which is practical good news considering we are moving in a little over 2 weeks. Oh my....I need to go pack some boxes

Simple Things

Things have been pretty slow and simple around our house. Not too much excitement but much fun. In only doing the bare minimum I have been relishing in the joy of the simple things in life. Like rolling in the laundry before you fold it....and laughing at your 4 year who is wearing your underwear on his head quite proudly. The crazy playdoh creatures that can be made while I laid nauseated on the couch. The many stories and quiet snuggle times just chatting because mama didn't have the energy to ride bikes or blow bubbles outside. These last few weeks have reminded me what's important. Good food (though my cooking has been sparse), clean clothes, something good to read, a little creativity, my family and a gracious savior.
What more could one ask for?

A glimpse at a few simple things in our life.

I came across these posts by Molly Piper about helping those who are grieving. She lost her daughter last fall at birth and shares practical things that ware helpful. I remember having very similar struggles when our son died almost six years ago.
It is especially true when she talks about months after things happen, it is still so fresh and real. When people look fine on the outside at church or events doesn't mean all is well.
Anyway, I think the posts are well worth the read in order to care for those around us who have suffered such a loss.
